With close to 9 years of experience, Julie-Ann has a thorough understanding of family law and a proven track record of successfully resolving complex legal issues, such as child custody, property division and divorce. She is committed to helping families navigate the legal system and achieve their goals, and is known for her strong negotiation skills and ability to find creative solutions. Law Clerk/Paralegal (Family Law) - casual

Position Overview:
We are excited to offer a unique hybrid role for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our growing law firm. This position is ideal for law students in their third, fourth or fifth year, with a strong interest in family law, offering hands-on experience in a supportive and flexible work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Interaction: Act as the primary liaison between clients and the lawyer, managing calls, emails, and client inquiries.

Document Drafting: Prepare, edit, and proofread legal documents, including affidavits, letters, and court submissions.

File Management: Open, close, and manage client files, ensuring deadlines are met.

Administrative Support: Manage scheduling, correspondence, and the lawyer’s calendar.
Qualifications:

Education: Currently enrolled in a law degree program, ideally in the third year or later.

Interest: Strong passion for family law and eagerness to learn.

Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Experience: No prior legal experience required, but the ability to learn quickly is essential.

Technology: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and the ability to work remotely with a provided laptop.

Availability: Flexible work-from-home arrangements with occasional attendance in Newcastle.
